How do I tell my story on social media?
Leslie Gordon helps CEOs, business owners, and actors and more hone in on their unique and authentic voice. Whether they need to modify an accent, create an accent, or simply enjoy the experience of speaking in front of people, you won’t find anyone better at it (or more credentialed) than her.
Like many highly trained consultants, though, Leslie faced a challenge when creating video content for social media:
She has so much knowledge, that she didn’t always know where to start in telling the story of how she helps people. And that added lots of time onto the content creation process, which is already lengthy. She needed a method of creating video clips for social media that told her story and helped her business goals.
He brought his mobile studio to my office so that all I had to do was sit to talk with him. He did the advance work to know what questions to ask, and with his skillful editing he created a terrific selection of clips that I can use for multiple purposes. A true creative professional, I highly recommend Zach!
If you are like Leslie, you’re confident in talking to someone face-to-face and showing exactly what about your expertise, your knowledge, and your services will transform them. But when it comes to telling those stories on-camera, the process is much harder.
A Simple Approach to Video Clips
Leslie booked her recording time with me and filled out my questionairre. That’s all she had to do to prepare for the on-camera interview, since I paired her answers with research on her business.
We recorded the interview that would become the video clips in her office here in Athens, GA using my mobile podcast studio. We warmed up the conversation by talking about a few non-work things, like breakfast, kids leaving for college, and whatever else came up, before we transitioned into questions about her work.
Now that our conversation was natural and authentic, we recorded roughly forty-five minutes of material. With each answer, Leslie gave me another building block for the clips I would create later. Even when a great “hook” for social media (a really fun or interesting phrase that grabs people’s attention) occurred two minutes into a three minute story, we can find a way to tell that story both authentically and concisely with the hook at the start to really pull people in – and for the right reasons!

The Easiest Business Video Content
Equipped with more than a dozen video clips of herself speaking authentically, edited to concise stories and addressing a spread of topics that assist in meeting her business goals, she can now simply put them up on social and spend the rest of her day doing what she loves: coaching speakers.
Leslie’s videos are also professional looking and consistent in their visuals. Shortly after the project, she was installed as the president of the National Speakers Association – Georgia Elite Chapter.
The process was easy, didn’t require much time of her, and generated content she is proud of. Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!
