Keep Athens wired.
I love podcast. I love Athens. Here’s a list invovling both.
Podcasting and Athens both inspire loyalty. Podcast listeners are more dedicated to their podcasts and the associated personalities and brands than other forms of media, and the convenience and authenticiy of the medium is a wonderful way to connect with local news, opinion, and information. Make some time for these local sounds and you may find yourself bumping elbows with the folks behind these shows. Each show is linked in the title and show art, and I’m priveleged that a couple of them are clients of Rooster High.
This is a list of all podcasts currently made in Athens*. The parameters are:
- A regular host or producer resides in Athens-Clarke County
- The podcast released an episode in the last two months
If I missed any shows which meet said parameters, please email me with the details and I’ll add them to the next edition.

A final note: Matt and Marlene of Athcast and AthCastMusic respictively don’t indicate any relationship between the shows, though they both use “Athcast.” In my research into any relationship I found evidence of another podcast named Athcast from 2005, which is now lost media. It was a “rockumentary” show where the episodes would play sets from bands in Athens and included interviews with said bands. If anyone has a lead on where that media may live and would like to have it archived and accessible to the public, please email me.
*I have not included podcasts by religious organizations, since those function primarily as archives for sermons. If you are aware of one produced specifically for the medium of podcast and not as a method of accessibly archiving, please send me info on that show so I can add it to my next list.
