Booting Up The Reboot: Play To Your Strengths
When Corry Frazier and Melissa Pepin started their business coaching venture The Business Reboot together, they knew they wanted to use a podcast as a marketing pillar. This made their desire to use a content repurposing strategy much easier, for the sake of efficiency. They blogged for their photography businesses for a long time, and wanted an alternative to writing long-form content for the new venture.
Besides, it’s easy to turn a podcast episode into a blog post.
Among their strengths are skill in verbal communication, a fantastic interpersonal chemistry, and several decades of successful small business experience between them.
Rooster High worked with The Business Reboot to launch their show in 2022, and has been the podcast management partner since.
What The Content Repurposing Strategy Needed
As the show continued, Corry and Melissa knew they could use their podcast content for even more. Since it wasn’t time to introduce video to their podcast – the show is audio-only – Rooster High’s service of turning video podcast episodes into high-quantity, high-quality social media content wasn’t at option at that time.
In talks between The Business Reboot and Rooster High, we knew a smart use of content tools could enable them to generate loads of consistent, on-brand, quality content. This was the content repurposing strategy they needed.
We created a workflow that would deliver all sorts of information from their podcast episodes to them. Using these resources, they could create all kinds of social media content using quotes, information, and points from the podcast episodes.
Using this content repurposing strategy has granted them the following in their social media strategy:
Authenticity
When your content is created from your podcast episode, it’s already phrased in your actual, natural speaking tone. You’ll sound exactly like yourself on the podcast, in your social media content written or otherwise, and on discovery and sales calls.
This is a huge benefit no matter the size of your organization using a podcast in your content repuposing strategy. Authenticity is important to most demographics, and more so to those that are aging into leadership roles and buying power.
Cost effectiveness and efficiency
Cost-effective strategies are what keep a business in business. How little can be spent to acheive the needed results, without sacrificing too much and then losing said results?
While The Business Reboot podcast is an audio-only show and generates a large volume of content from a single episode, when you add video you gain even more cost-efficiency. Compare the cost of the following to the last quote you received for the creation of any of these items individually:
- One long-form video
- Six authentic, high-quality social media clips
- Quotes from you or your guests for use in places like PR articles, blogs, your website, social media graphics, etc.
- A show notes blog post on your website as a resource for listeners
- A companion blog post created from your transcript (re-worked into a genuine blog post)
Claiming real estate in your audience’s mind, and retaining it, takes a high amout of intelligent effort. A content repurposing strategy centered on a podcast strikes the perfect balance of freeing up your time and generating effective marketing.
Brand Consistency
If your social media content IS WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS, your blogs are more like scientific papers, and your website copy speaks of whimsy, dreams and stardust, the tone of your brand is inconsistent.
When you use this content repurposing strategy, it means that the tone will be consisent by default. It’s all coming from the same place, and an authentic place at that: natural human speach.
Content Consistency
The other consistency this unlocks is simply the fact that you’re releasing new content all the time, and regularly. Committing to a podcast means we plan the episodes and recording times; they don’t get put off until later (you’re paying for them).
And with our social media management services added onto the podcast service, this means your content is coming out every day, and without you lifting a finger once you’re done recording (if that’s the service you selected).
There are several major advantages to content consistency at this volume:
- We see what kind of content does well. When clips and content of all kinds is being posted – jokes, informational stuff, stories – we can easily see what the audience resonates with, and plan future content with this in mind.
- The total reach of daily, quality content in aggregate is often much greater than just one post that gains a high amount of attention. Going viral also means, for Rooster High’s typical customers, that you have gone far beyond your intended audience and gained many followers who are not your ideal client.
How This Content Repurposing Strategy Built Their Marketing
The Business Reboot began to use this strategy in 2024, streamlining their content creation process and becoming efficient. This was the same year they went full-time, after becoming a six-figure business while working in it part-time.
The three year anniversary of the podcast occurs in September of 2025, with no interruptions to their release schedule. Corry and Melissa are serious about serving their audience, and the content repurposing strategy they use with Rooster High allows them more time to serve.
